When can a ReadTimeout occur?

Ok question if you are doing 1 connection 1 response per client.

If the client has successfully sent to the server and is now waiting for the
server to respond should the Server throw a ReadTimeout exception?
Especially when the business handler takes longer to execute?

1- Client connects
2- Netty starts ReadTimeout timers for 20 seconds etc...
3- Client sends
4- Netty fires business handler which takes 30 seconds
5- Netty fires ReadTimeout Exception at 20 seconds <--- It shouldn't because
the client already sent what it needed to and is now just waiting for a
response....

If that how it works... How do I know when a ReadTimeout error occured if I
should keep the connection open or close it?
