HOW TO: Use Netty for port-sharing within Tomcat6?

Is your requirement to not open multiple ports set in stone? One option might
be to configure tomcat to listen on a localhost address and have Netty
forward traffic via loopback. Although this means additional ports are open,
they are at least only addressable within the local host. Note I've not
tried this.

You probably could make modifications to Tomcat but I would suggest that the
tomcat mailing lists might be a better place to ask.
