LITTLE ENDIAN: Performance

[zx spectrum]

Seems like a simple test with a FrameDecoder runs about 9(!) times slower if
everything is set to LITTLE ENDIAN, than the same test with a default ( BIG
ENDIAN ).

Is that expected? ( because Netty needs to do the conversion for every
frame? )

Is there a way to improve it to be as good as BIG ENDIAN?
