The style attribute is still ignored.
The following code
<rich:dataTable style="background:#CC3300;" id="myDataTable" value="#{listBean.capitals}" var="capitals">
renders the filliwing attributes for html table:
<table class="dr-table rich-table " id="j_id59:myDataTable" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"> - no style attribute is displayed.
