Right now, while there is a "delay" attribute on rich:toolTip to specify the length of time before the tooltip is shown, there is no corresponding attribute to configure the delay before the tooltip is hidden (after the mouse leaves the tooltip). Something like that would enable use cases where users interact with the contents of the tooltip.

Another (or possibly additional) solution would be to have an attribute to completely disable automatic hiding of the tooltip, with developers using a JS API function to control that themselves.
