Menu generates invalid XHTML when using jsf-ri 1.2_08

When using Richfaces 3.2.0+ with jsf-ri 1.2_8, any use of dropDownMenu with menuItem's causes Firefox 2's XHTML parser to choke with the message "XML Parsing Error: not well-formed" . However, it works just fine if I downgrade to RF 3.1.5.CR2 or older and/or jsf-ri 1.2_07 or older.
