I've tried to find the cause for a few hours but I was unable to find it.

What I tried was:

- suggestionbox.js from richfaces 3.1.2 in richfaces 3.1.4-snapshot
- SuggestionBoxRenderer and UISuggestionBox from richfaces 3.1.2
- disable richfaces compression css/js in web.xml 
- use old prototype (1.5.1.1) in richfaces 3.14
- used unload JS from patches.js of richfaces 3.1.2 in richfaces 3.1.4 (appended to the end of prototype.js 1.6 version)
- removed ?javax.portlet.faces.DirectLink=true weghalen
