Are there any plans to address this issue in the 3.1 branch of code.  I realize that new features are not being added to the 3.1 branch, but since this is a bug I thought it may be fixed in an upcoming 3.1 release.  This problem is causing me a number of issues, and I am not able to move to the 3.2 release because of the platform that I am on.
