Hello,

as a hint I should add that the partial refresh problem as it can be seen in screenshot-1.jpg is not 
limited to the usage of rich:columns but also can be seen for 

                 a fixed number of columns 

for Firefox 3.0.3 and snapshot 3.3.0-20081008.041111, see for example

For a fixed number of columns the version of Safari and Chrome that have been
mentioned in the previous post show the content of the table just for the short
moment when the scrolling button is pressed, but then the content disappears
again.
