The problem was investigated. 
The bug was already fixed by Gleb Galkin, the result can be seen in nightly builds e.g. http://www.jboss.org/file-access/default/members/jbossrichfaces/freezone/docs/development/userguide/en/html_single/index.html#rich_dataTable , when released docs are update, the error will disappear
