I would like to be able to use recursiveTreeNodesAdaptor to configure Panel Menu, Context Menu, Drop Down Menu, after all, they all are based on a Hierarchical data model.

They all should use a shared Hierarchical model/adaptor... Shouldn't they? Why not? AFAIK there is no easy way to make this possible right now
