Extended Data Tables remembers most of the feature settings between ajax requests like

- sorting,
- filtering,
- selection of rows

but not 

- grouping.

Example:


Grouping
1. open Extended Data Table demo
2. select "State Name" > "Group by this column"
3. type "A" to "State Capital" filtering input
4. FAILURE: grouping is lost
