Hi, I was able to reproduce this issue too.
You are right - resizing event will be performed for all tables. I don't know why it's happens but I found some workaround.
You may wrap every table on your page to <a4j:region> like this:
<a4j:region renderRegionOnly="true">
<rich:extendedDataTable id="tableId" />
</a4j:region>
Only components inside region will be processed during resize event.
Since only one table is included to the region this issue will not occur.
