This can't be corrected on our side. It's browser problem. FireFox can't process normally many differenct cases if document not contains doctype declaration. It's desribed already in some other issues. Not specified doctype will cause any components with complex markup to be broken.

add for example 

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN"
"http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">

OR

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd">

to the main template. This should solve the problem.
