I expected to be coincident with other functional components like h:selectManyListbox, h:selectOneListbox, rich:orderingList. 
I expected to be coincident with jsf-documentation like UIComponentBase. 
The jsf-description of UIComponentBase.getClientId is "Returns the client-specific id for the component. ". The Component is the ListShuttle, not the contents of the Component.
