I think this is an usability issue, we should have it in the BOM to ensure by import richfaces-bom third-party examples will be working and pick up correct versions.

I'm missed your fix. Do you say that you want to javax.faces:jsf-api to BOM and samples, but keep com.sun.faces:jsf-api for testing?
