Wesley Hales commented on RF-11289:
-----------------------------------

I think this will be limited. I definitely don't think it's worth loading all the scripts/resources because of latency issues alone. But the biggest problem is the interaction model, where you select text and apply a style of formatting to it. The User Interaction (or UX) just doesn't happen like that on mobile devices. So.. what should we do? I would love to see a usecase for a rich text editor on a mobile device... and I'm only talking about tablets here (phones are completely discounted imo for the small real-estate).

Overall, it doesn't make sense to me to support on 4.1.. maybe move to 4.2 or wait for a vote?

> As we have discussed on forums [1]
> it would be necessary to satisfy that textarea which editor uses for constructing content-editable area is used on the mobiles, since there are no editor support on mobiles and also mobiles are not target platform for such rich experience.
> Consequently, it is necessary to satisfy that no resources for editor (CSS/JS) are downloaded when not required.
