Lukas reported:
* removing the syntax highlighting did not resolve the button click problem (but the error did go away).
* the ViewState is not returned on the initial request for the page.  It is however returned on the initial request for desktop browsers.
* reported this works fine on his android 4 device, but not on his iPad device.

I can confirm it does not work on my Android 2.3 device.

We should try running the older working showcase with the latest RichFaces dependencies, to see if the breakage was introduced in changes to the framework, or in changes to the showcase itself.
