Forgot to mention three things:

1. Problems observed when deploying with Liferay Faces Bridge
2. The RenderURL being invoked is something that I observed in Pluto. Sometimes I test with pluto in order to rule-out any JavaScript incompatibilities with Liferay. With Liferay it does indeed invoke a ResourceURL (using javax.faces.encodedURL) but you can only drop the node once. All subsequent drops are ignored.
3. There are no errors reported in the JavaScript console, and no failures in the Tomcat log.

> Project: RichFaces
> Issue Type: Bug
> Security Level: Public(Everyone can see)
> Components: portal
> Affects Versions: 4.2.0.Final
> Reporter: Neil Griffin

> This issue was first reported in the Liferay forums here:
> I was able to reproduce the error using the sample attached to the forum post by Michael Weber.
> I think the problem is that RichFaces JS is not using the "javax.faces.encodedURL" for postback when the drop occurs.
