Can be also reproduced in Metamer: http://localhost:8080/metamer/faces/components/richDropDownMenu/topMenu.xhtml (just set @showDelay).

It seems that the problem is in _label facet_. When you put there extra elements (like from h:outputImage >>> <img> ) it behaves like reported. 

Without <h:graphicImage> there is no problem.
