I've found out what the problem was and it was caused by the web.xml. I upgraded from JSF 1.2 to JSF 2.1 and I had a bunch of old context params in my web.xml.

I removed the following MyFaces context param and it works perfectly, although this parameter is not supported by MyFaces anymore?!?

	<param-name>org.apache.myfaces.AUTO_SCROLL</param-name>
	<param-value>true</param-value>
</context-param>
