    Steps to Reproduce: 
1. load [rich:panelMenu demo on showcase|http://showcase.richfaces.org/richfaces/component-sample.jsf?demo=panelMenu]
2. click on the item 1.1
3. see that the panel with the information about selected items is updated
4. click on the item again to unselect the item
5. click on the same item again and see that the panel is not updated
