Im facing same issue, rich:fileUpload doesn't work on Glassfish 3.1.2, but it works fine on Glassfish 3.0. I tried this solution too: https://java.net/jira/browse/GLASSFISH-18444 but this too doesn't work for me. 
my app built in JSF  2.2, richfaces 4.3, Spring 3.0, hibernate. 

Im stuck on this issue, can't move forward, still looking for any workaround. Any idea when this issue will be resolved?
