Jonas, in my opinion, this is still issue that comes from browser-specific rendering engine and is not really an issue of RichFaces implementation. I guess other implementations of modal panels will behave same.

It is possible that there is some workaround.

Could you please investigate general solutions and see if some could be applied to RichFaces?

If yes, feel free to reopen this issue.
