Reopening.
[~bleathem], I've tried the sample in components-demo before adding sample/tests to Metamer. It works fine in Chrome 36, Safari 5.1.7, IE11, but +not in Firefox+ (tried 30, 31).
Steps to reproduce:
# deploy components-demo and open http://localhost:8080/components-demo/examples/input/select.jsf
# type 'a' in the first select
** expected: menu with options (Aaron, Adam) appears
** have: error in console referencing to [this line|https://github.com/richfaces/richfaces/blob/master/components/rich/src/main/resources/META-INF/resources/org.richfaces/select.js#L214] with message: {{ReferenceError: event is not defined}}.

Tried on WildFly 8.1 and EAP 6.3.
