[~clerum], I see. That's because of the workaround for MyFaces (RF-13740). Looks like we need a more sophisticated check.

EDIT: Is this on a specific component? I see how it can fail but I've tried both metamer and showcase on Tomcat 7.0.52 and I don't see the NPE.
