In WEB-INF/lib dir in showcase WAR is jsf-ri and jsf-impl included also...
This should be caused by explicit dependency in showcase's pom.xml, but it was a bit confusing on first sight.

Demo doesn't work without this JARs. After I removed it, I was not able to start app (open appropriate URL respectively) and get error (in browser) saying:
