Works fine with tomcat6. I downloaded the war from http://hudson.qa.jboss.com/hudson/view/RF-Rel/job/richfaces-4.0-release-examples-showcase/ws/richfaces-showcase/target/richfaces-showcase.war 

There are some problems with JBoss AS 6 Snapshot.

All I did was to remove jsf jars from the .war that I deployed to tomcat. I will see if building with -jee6 profile helps but I really doubt it.
