RichFaces Developer Guide [1] contains two sections about creating new projects:
# 2.4. Creating a project with JBoss Tools
# 2.5. Creating a project with Maven

Section 2.5 describes how to create a project from archetype and then import it into Eclipse. However, there should be also a section describing how to create Maven project from Eclipse.
