Lukas Fryc commented on RFPL-1039:
----------------------------------
Separating by runtimes will not shorten the time of execution.
The better idea is separate it to several jobs by the component groups like: "a4j-core / iteration / misc / etc."
Then we can create:
richfaces-4.0-metamer-ftest--a4j-core
richfaces-4.0-metamer-ftest--iteration (we can omit server-compatibility since we have no other <xyz>-compatibility jobs)
Pros: good separation, each group can be scheduled specifically to another day to decrease Hudson peaking
Cons: several more jobs (about 6-7 groups?)
> split metamer-ftest--server-compatibility into different builds

> Currently, we have following matrix builds:
> http://hudson.qa.jboss.com/hudson/view/RF-Rel/job/richfaces-4.0-release-metamer-ftest--server-compatibility/
> These builds take on average more than 5 hours which is not a good thing. These need to be split into separate matrix builds. I am thinking
> http://hudson.qa.jboss.com/hudson/view/RF-4.0/job/richfaces-4.0-metamer-ftest--jboss6-compatibility/
> http://hudson.qa.jboss.com/hudson/view/RF-4.0/job/richfaces-4.0-metamer-ftest--tomcat6-compatibility/
> http://hudson.qa.jboss.com/hudson/view/RF-Rel/job/richfaces-4.0-release-metamer-ftest--jboss6-comp
> http://hudson.qa.jboss.com/hudson/view/RF-Rel/job/richfaces-4.0-release-metamer-ftest--tomcat6-comp
> So basically have one matrix build for each run time and each build will run with Mojarra, myfaces. I am open to other ideas. Just to clarify, this jira is in addition to https://jira.jboss.org/jira/browse/RFPL-941 which is about consolidating template and tests otherwise we have lots of redundant tests.
