There are couple of improvements needed to be done for *simple app* archetype:

* it would be nice if it is rewrote to markdown
* the information about Tomcat deploying is inaccurate, the built war can not be deployed to Tomcat without further modifications
* version of Tomcat should be upgraded to 7
