Interestingly, 

not Number( intValue() < $number.intValue() )

works.. 

In the recent past, I have found issues with Collection( size ... ) not
working,
but Collection( size() ... ) behaves correctly. So I guess there's an issue
with
the resolution/invocation of non-getter methods without ()?
