I would also take a look at <a href="http://www.openlaszlo.com">OpenLaszlo</a>.  It seems as though implementing such support in Seam is not a monumental task.  OpenLaszlo supports JavaRPC, XML-RPC and Soap.  A subset of the gluecode is already there through the SeamRemoting effort used for AJAX support.  With so many other interesting issued open, the interest may not be there.  So if you read this, vote for it.
