Ok, did a little bit of looking around and it works if I change it to:
<event type="org.jboss.seam.security.loginSuccessful">
     <action expression="#{redirect.returnToCapturedView}"/>
</event>


I've had a look at the code changes in Identity and maybe the doco should be updated to reflect all the new events that get raised.
