We have enough a4jsf magic now in the wiki and I haven't seen the conversation timeout since I use a named request queue for all requests. There is still the occasional message, e.g. when you click "Update" on a document edit and the live preview is still updating. But that conflict is just the price you have to pay, nothing I can do about it.
