Just a quick update. I have maven 2.0.8 now with JAVA_HOME pointing to JDK 1.5 and the most basic integration test seem to work (seam environment gets initialized and I managed to call #{authenticator.authenticate} (logger and identity are successfully injected). Not sure why it works yet (I really haven't done anything except that I upgraded to maven 2.0.8 quite some time ago) as the dependency tree doesn't seem sufficient enough.

I'll try to 'normalize' the project so that the parent pom doesn't use seam as parent project but uses it as a dependency (a more 'enterprise-friendly' way).
