There's a jboss.remoting bug that has been fixed but not yet rolled into jboss-embedded-all.jar:

and it causes a NPE when running tests with the embedded container.  It can be worked around by changing the 0.0.0.0 in bootstrap/conf/bootstrap-beans.xml to be 127.0.0.1
