You get an attachment of content-type  "application/octet-stream" if the value is a String (e.g. #{theme.images}/mail_top.jpg will create a value as String)

(getValue() instanceof String) == true

If you have a property that returns a file

public File getAttachmentFile() {
  return new File("/path/to/image.gif");
}

you get the correct ContentType (image/gif)

However also the Content-Type is correct now this doesn't solve the issue.
