>From remote.js - if the response from the server is not HTTP 200, the follow code is executed:

alert("There was an error processing your request.  Error code: " + status);

It would be helpful to be able to change or suppress this message in certain situations.  

Please see attached patch - I've moved the alert to a function which can be overridden where required.
