Jan Groth commented on JBSEAM-4585:
+ 1 for Timothy
In addition, I propose to split the forums into separate sub-forums.
I find the current structure with just "seam" and "weld" extremely unsatisfying. Everything just mixes together, and nothing is being paid real attention. speacially after the post passes the critical top 25 mark, it simply drops out of attention
My proposal is to set up about a dozen of different sub-forums, with at least the following branches:
- business logic
- cross-cutting concerns (security, performance, clustering)
- beginner's talk (VERY important)
as i already said, i completely agree with Timothy about the search functionality being very very improvable. if we at least had sub-forums, one could simply browse by the area of interest, say "presentation", and read through the different topics. a task which is almost not possible now, because everything just mixes together...

> As part of an initiative to improve the experience for new and existing developers, community members getting involved with Seam and Weld, I am documenting a set of improvements to be made to the current state user-facing http://seamframework.org and related documentation.
> This task serves as a running list of inconsistencies, improvement areas, and erroneous information provided on SWFK.org (and related.)
> * http://seamframework.org/Community/GettingStartedDevelopingTheSeamFramework -- page still references version 2.0 of Seam for new development, which is now a lie
> * http://seamframework.org/Download/SeamDownloads#H-SeamSVNRepository contains repo URLs that are now broken for SCM checkout.
> * Too hard to find JIRA links -- added JIRA links to sidenav -- Lincoln Baxter
