I tested the patch with a small sample application and everything looks fine. The only thing that could be discussed are the default values for the two new attributes. In my patch the default value for {{showGlobalMessages}} is {{true}} and {{showFieldMessages}} is {{false}}. I think this makes sense as {{<s:validateForm>}} will often be used for cross field validation.

Thoughts?
