In Seam 2, I was able to secure my RESTEasy calls with basic authentication using the following tag:

<web:authentication-filter url-pattern="/seam/resource/rest/*" auth-type="basic"/>

I have been working with Seam 3 security, and cannot find an analog to this. Jason Porter suggested creating a JIRA in this forum to address this requirement.
