Also, the if-check regarding whether forwarding is possible or not is probably faulty since I'm able to do a 

	public void bad(@Observes NotAuthorizedEvent e)
	{
		navigationHandler.handleNavigation(facesContext, null, "/accessdenied?faces-redirect=true");
		facesContext.responseComplete();
	}

and it works.
