There is a couple of problems in project generated by seam-gen. First - there should be no "<param-value>disable</param-value>" in web.xml. Valid values are false or true.
Second problem is the lack of parenthesis at "#{identity.logout}" (should be "#{identity.logout()}") in menu.xhtml and same at "#{org.jboss.seam.web.session.invalidate}" in template.xhtml
