Andrea,
 this is not fault of Seam in any way. You can use EL 2.1 and have the functionality as you had.

EL 2.2 introduces this features and you can see it in wishlist which comes from Seam 2 here at http://seamframework.org/Documentation/EL21#H-InvocationOfArbitraryMethodsP1FIXED
