The paragraph related to the extensions state that they must be in META-INF/services but I've thought it could be relative to the folder considered as bean archive (in case of a WAR: WEB-INF/classes). That's why I copied the paragraph of the documentation (mainly as a reference for other people too).

It was just an assumption and if it's correct, I think you are right in saying that it's not clear.

BTW I haven't read the whole documentation so it's very likely I will say silly things before getting it right. Sorry in advance for that :)
