So is the JBEDSP being worked as a GSS case, or will someone need to create the relevant Teiid issue for the costing problem?

Yes there should be a designer issue on the validation.

I don't think there is a JIRA yet on the 0 cardinality.  This was left out of 5.5 due to the level of effort.  Legacy index files actually have 0 for the cardinality.  So we have to introduce a new indexing version and coordinate with the designer to determine old from new values.  I'll go ahead and create.
