It's hard to make a guess at when the api would be considered complete, and since we are protocol and serialization compatible across 7.x, this shouldn't have much of an affect on designer anyway if they stick with a particular version.  We will want to get am abstraction here by the time we get to Teiid 8 to make it easier for Designer to manage across what should be incompatible versions. 

What version were you thinking this should be addressed in?
