>From an initial investigation I would estimate that that there is about a 10% overhead (depending upon the document and types used) when running a streaming query vs. non-streaming.  This is due to using an intermediate tuplebuffer and xom/nux.  However there are no obvious hotspots.  The rest of the overhead in a client/server scenario is likely from the increased latency of streaming processing - results are not returned until the document has been fully processed.  Changing results processing to be multi-threaded would be the next step.
