oh, I wondered how you expected that to work across VMs. Your wanting me to validate that using:
<xa-datasource-property name="AdditionalProperties">useCallingThread=false</xa-datasource-property>
is a valid workaround? If so... it's not. I've only had it work as "embedded". Two separate VMs give me the same response as I had when deploying on one VM and specifying <host>:<port>
